Product Introduction
**Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Disc**
Our tri-ply stainless steel disc is one of the most cost-effective materials for cookware production, offering excellent performance at a competitive price. It is widely used for stainless steel pots, pans, saucepans, frying pans, and other cookware products.
The material is made with three layers: **304 stainless steel + aluminum + 430 stainless steel**. The inner **304 stainless steel layer** is in direct contact with food, providing a safe, hygienic, and corrosion-resistant cooking surface. The outer **430 stainless steel layer** is magnetic, making the cookware suitable for both induction cookers and open flame cooking. The middle **aluminum layer** helps transfer heat quickly and evenly, reducing hot spots and helping minimize food sticking during cooking.
The total thickness is usually controlled between **1.2 mm and 4.0 mm**. In tri-ply stainless steel material, 430 stainless steel is the most economical layer and is commonly made at **0.6 mm** thickness. Some customers choose **0.8 mm or 1.0 mm 430 stainless steel** to make the cookware heavier and stronger. The 304 stainless steel layer is more expensive, usually about twice the cost of 430 stainless steel, so its standard thickness is generally around **0.4 mm**. The remaining thickness is aluminum.
The thickness of the aluminum layer is very important. A thicker aluminum layer provides better and more even heat distribution, while a thinner aluminum layer may cause uneven heating and serious local sticking during cooking.
Our tri-ply stainless steel discs are made from high-quality materials supplied by large steel mills. They offer good deep-drawing performance, stable structure, and a surface that is easier to polish, making them suitable for high-quality cookware manufacturing.
