Product Introduction
**Two-Layer Stainless Steel Disc**
Our two-layer stainless steel disc is made from **430 stainless steel and 1060 aluminum**, combining the magnetic performance of stainless steel with the fast heat conductivity of aluminum. It is suitable for cookware used on gas stoves, induction cookers, electric stoves, and other common heat sources.
The **430 stainless steel layer** makes the cookware induction-compatible, while the **1060 aluminum layer** provides quick and efficient heat transfer. Since aluminum should not be used as a direct food-contact surface, the inside of the cookware is usually coated, similar to traditional aluminum cookware, to provide a safer and more suitable cooking surface.
Many customers assume that two-layer steel should be cheaper than tri-ply stainless steel because it combines only two materials and seems to require lower processing costs. In fact, this is not necessarily true. Whether producing two-layer steel or tri-ply stainless steel, the manufacturing process, production time, and equipment requirements are generally the same.
Although aluminum has only about **one-third the density of 304 stainless steel**, its material price is around **1.5 times higher than 304 stainless steel**. As a result, when comparing discs with the same thickness and diameter, the unit price of two-layer steel and tri-ply stainless steel is usually quite close.
This two-layer stainless steel disc is suitable for cookware manufacturers producing induction-compatible aluminum cookware, coated pots, frying pans, saucepans, and other kitchenware products that require fast heating, magnetic compatibility, and stable forming performance.
