Amino-acid surfactants are mild, and that is the problem: they are difficult to thicken with conventional carbomers, and the usual workaround leaves a sticky after-feel.
NM-Carbomer 60 is an acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer developed for these systems. It builds viscosity at 0.2 to 0.8 wt.%, with finished-product light transmittance of at least 92%, and holds it in low-pH formulations as well as in facial cleansers, amino-acid body washes, shampoos and mild hand soaps.
For formulators moving a cleanser from sulfate to amino-acid surfactants, the grade is usually the first thing to review, because the thickening curve and the sensory result both change.
