What are the insulating materials for dry-type transformers

Insulation materials for dry-type transformers mainly include air insulation, cast insulation, epoxy resin materials, NOMEX, pre-impregnated DMD, glass cloth, diphenyl ether, glass fibre board and so on.
Air insulation and cast insulation are common insulation methods in dry-type transformers, of which air insulation refers to the transformer does not use liquid insulation medium, but the use of air as an insulating medium; cast insulation refers to the use of casting process will be covered with insulating materials in the windings and core to form a solid insulating layer.
Epoxy resin materials are commonly used as insulation materials in dry type transformers, which are safe, reliable and used in power systems up to 35kV.
NOMEX and pre-preg DMD are other insulating materials used in dry type transformers, NOMEX is mainly used for wire wrapping and core clamping while pre-preg DMD is used for foil winding interlayer insulation.
Glass cloth, diphenyl ether and glass fibre board are also insulating materials used in dry-type transformers, and they are used in sections such as spacers, gaskets, interphase separators, high and low voltage insulation and
end insulation, respectively.
These insulating materials are selected and designed to ensure the safe operation and long-term stability of dry-type transformers, while also taking into account the need for environmental protection, fire protection and easy maintenance.
