A stone washed cap is not a cap that has simply been dyed grey. It is a finished cap - sewn, embroidered and trimmed - that then goes into a wash drum with pumice stones and dye, which is why the colour sits unevenly, the seams pucker slightly and the crown goes soft. That softness is the point. An unstructured crown has no buckram behind the front panels, so it settles onto the shape of the wearer's head instead of standing up like a pro style cap, and after the wash the twill has already been broken in, so it feels like a cap worn for a year on the first day. The wash also changes how the decoration reads. Embroidery is stitched before the cap is washed, so the thread fades together with the cloth and a badge loses its hard commercial edge - which is exactly what makes this build work for a vintage, outdoor or heritage brand. Prints and patches soften the same way; nothing stays crisp, and that is the look being bought. The sample shown is a mid grey cap with a full-colour embroidered front badge, six sewn eyelets, a low profile, a pre-curved brim and a self-fabric rear strap instead of exposed hardware. Four wash types are available - stone wash, garment wash, pigment dye wash and broken wash - and they differ in how uneven the colour ends up and how much the cloth shrinks, so one wash type is chosen per order rather than mixed on one purchase order. Cotton twill, T/C and CVC, adult and kids sizes, colour approved on a washed lab dip before bulk. Packed 25 pcs per polybag or inner box and 150 pcs per carton.
