The lattice match to YBaCuO and other high-temperature superconductors is good, with a low dielectric constant and low microwave loss. Against GaN the mismatch is small and the crystal is chemically stable at the temperatures used for growth, which is what makes it a III-V nitride substrate. Compared with ZnO and sapphire it is also a cost-effective optical substrate. The material belongs to the tetragonal system, space group P41212, with oxygen ions in a hexagonal close packing, lithium in tetrahedral and aluminium in octahedral sites.
Standard sizes 10×3 to 20×20 mm and Ø15 to Ø2.6", thickness 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm, orientation <100> or <001>, single or double side polished to Ra ≤ 5 Å, orientation accuracy ±0.5°. Slanted wafers with 1° to 45° inclination on request. Packed in a Class 100 clean bag inside a Class 1000 clean room.
Minimum order 10 pcs. Send the orientation, size and thickness; slanted wafers are quoted from the drawing.
