The small lattice mismatch and the absence of a phase transition allow high-quality epitaxial films of YBCO and of magnetic materials. Dielectric behaviour is good, with a high dielectric constant and low loss, and thermal stability is sufficient to hold performance at high temperature. Crystal quality is high, with a complete structure and no obvious crystallographic defects, which carries over into electronic and optical applications. The wide band gap gives useful optical transparency in the ultraviolet.
Standard sizes 10×3 to 20×20 mm, thickness 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm, orientation <100>, <110> or <111>, single or double side polished to Ra ≤ 5 Å, crystal face orientation accuracy ±0.5°, edge orientation 2° or down to 1° on request. Slab wafers with the plane tilted at 1° to 45° can be processed to requirement. Packed in a Class 100 clean bag inside a Class 1000 clean room.
Minimum order 10 pcs. Send the film material and the orientation; tilted wafers are quoted from the drawing.
