Refractive index is high, ultraviolet absorption is strong, chemical stability is good and electron mobility is high. Transmission runs from 0.5 to 4.5 µm. The dielectric constant is strongly anisotropic, around 180 along <001> and 90 perpendicular to it, which is worth knowing when the wafer goes into an RF or capacitive structure. Thermal expansion is moderate and the thermo-optic coefficient is negative in both directions.
Boules of Ø17×80 mm. Substrates in 5×5, 5×10 and 10×10 mm with ±0.05 mm tolerance, orientation <100>, <110>, <001> or <111> at ±0.5°, single or double side polished. For prism blanks, parallelism better than 30″, flatness better than λ/4 and surface quality 20/10 are held. Packed in a Class 100 clean bag inside a Class 1000 clean room.
Minimum order 10 pcs. For prism and polariser work send the prism angle and the wavelength; those two decide the cut and the coating.
