Machining tapered walls, draft angles, chamfers, and conical surfaces with a standard flat-end mill means multiple tool changes, toolpath complications, and inconsistent surface quality. Our tapered solid carbide end mill eliminates all of that — the built-in taper angle lets you machine angled walls and contoured surfaces in a single pass, with full flute engagement and excellent chip evacuation along the entire tapered length.

  • Precision Taper Angle: Available in standard angles from 0.5° to 15° (1°, 2°, 3°, 5°, 7°, 10° most common), ground to ±0.25° tolerance. The taper runs the full length of the cutting portion for uniform wall angle.
  • Ball Nose or Square End Tip: Choose ball nose tip for 3D surfacing, contour following, and blend-radius machining on mould cavities. Choose square end tip for flat-bottomed tapered pockets, chamfer milling, and draft-angle finishing where the floor must remain flat.
  • 4-Flute Tapered Geometry: Four flutes distributed evenly around the taper provide high feed rates, fine surface finish, and balanced cutting forces — critical when the cutting diameter varies along the tool length.
  • Uncoated Polished Finish: Bright uncoated carbide with polished flutes delivers maximum sharpness and minimal friction. Ideal for aluminium, copper, brass, plastics, and non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion can be problematic at the thin tip of a tapered tool.
  • Solid Carbide Construction: Premium micro-grain tungsten carbide provides the rigidity needed to resist deflection at the narrowest point of the taper — where cutting forces are most concentrated.
  • Full Flute Length Engagement: Unlike partial-taper designs, our tools feature continuous flutes over the entire tapered length, ensuring consistent chip removal even during long-depth tapered cuts.

Programming a 3D toolpath with a straight end mill to create a tapered wall requires constant Z-axis ramping, which reduces feed rates by 50% or more and creates visible scallop marks.
