III. Fully-Automatic Hydraulic Belt Deviation-Correction Device
Overview
Belt-type conveyors are widely used for bulk-material transportation in metallurgy, coal, power and other industries. During installation or operation, factors such as installation errors, material impact, load changes, non-uniform belt cross-section and uneven elongation cause the belt to deviate, resulting in material spillage, shutdown, or belt tearing caused by friction between the belt and the frame, and the conveyor cannot operate normally.
At present, the industry still adopts deviation-correction technologies developed decades ago for automatic belt rectification, though some new products have appeared recently. These automatic rectification devices can work in certain conditions, but they all have their own defects, such as damaging the belt edge and being unable to work effectively in wet environments. After analyzing the problems of existing automatic rectification devices, our company has designed a brand-new "Fully-Automatic Hydraulic Belt Deviation-Correction Device" (hereinafter referred to as "the Device").
Working Principle
The Device mainly consists of brackets, self-aligning idlers, swinging supports, cylinder supports, hydraulic cylinders, an oil-circuit assembly and a detecting-driving unit. When belt deviation occurs during operation, the offset belt rubs against the detecting-driving roller on the detecting-driving unit, causing the roller to rotate and in turn driving the oil pump. Hydraulic oil is drawn from the oil tank through the oil pump, and pressurized oil is delivered through the oil-circuit assembly and the hydraulic manifold block into the cylinder, producing reciprocating motion of the piston rod. The self-aligning idler then swings back and forth to form an included angle with the belt travelling direction, shifting the belt towards the opposite direction of deviation. This keeps the belt running at the central position and avoids spillage, shutdown, and friction-induced tearing between the belt and the frame, so that the conveyor operates normally.
Features
No external power source required: Power is generated directly by the friction between the offset belt and the detecting-driving roller on the detecting-driving unit. Automatic belt deviation correction can be achieved without any additional power source.
Compact structure and easy installation: All components are fixed on the horizontal beam-type bracket. When installing the Device, simply connect the bracket mounting bolts directly to the bolt holes on the conveyor frame. The adjusting bolts on both sides of the bracket can also be raised or lowered at will to adjust the belt tension.
