China has approved and issued four mandatory national standards for lubricants.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and the Standardization Administration of China have recently approved four new mandatory national standards for lubricants, as listed below:
- GB 11181.1‑2011, Hydraulic oils (L‑HL, L‑HM, L‑HV, L‑HS, L‑HG)
- GB 11120‑2011, Turbine oils
- GB 5903‑2011, Industrial enclosed gear oils
- GB 2536‑2011, Electrical fluids — Unused mineral insulating oils for transformers and switches
The above‑mentioned new mandatory national standards shall come into force on June 1, 2012.
