Die-Cast Recoil Starter Housing

A recoil starter housing with a circular rope-pulley cavity inside. Radial ribs on the cavity floor support the pulley and limit distortion, while the angled tube on the side guides the pull cord. A ring of screw holes around the rim fastens the housing to the engine side cover. Wall thickness is held uniform, so no welding is needed after casting. It is used on gasoline engines, lawn mowers and chainsaws, with pulley diameter and rope outlet direction adapted to the machine layout.
