◎ RV reducers are typically used in low-speed, high-torque transmission equipment. They achieve speed reduction by transmitting power from a high-speed source (such as an electric motor or internal combustion engine) through a small gear on the input shaft to a large gear on the output shaft.
Typical application areas include robotic arms, machine tools, assembly equipment, and material handling systems.
◎ Industrial robot joints are compact, leading to poor heat dissipation for the RV reducers housed within them. Continuous operation causes temperatures to rise in the joint areas, necessitating a grease with excellent high-temperature and oxidation stability to prevent leakage or degradation under heat. Good oxidation stability also ensures a long service life, reducing the need for frequent replacement. RV reducers require high machining precision and feature tight clearances between friction surfaces; a grease with a fluid-like structure offers superior vibration damping, noise reduction, and shock-load resistance compared to lubricating oil. As industrial robots are increasingly used for heavy-load tasks, their joints often operate under boundary lubrication conditions. This requires the lubricant to maintain an adequate oil film and provide excellent extreme-pressure (EP) performance to prevent excessive gear wear, which could lead to increased clearances and reduced precision.

It is suitable for lubricating the joints of cycloidal-pin (RV) reducers in medium-to-heavy-duty robots, specifically in high-load areas such as the base, main arm, and shoulder.
