1)Material---for front or face overlay
The three usual materials utilized for the graphic overlays are:
Lexan/PC(Polycarbonate),Mylar/PET(Polyester ,and Vinyl(PVC)
Polyester offers the best flex life and chemical resistance .
Polycarbonate offers better weathering characteristics and ink adhesive .
PVC are cost saving when the overlay is textured,but it is not environmental.
Surface finishes include velvet textured ,anti-glare matte, gloss clear ,selectively textured and anti-microbial .

5) Embeded LEDs-

A standard membrane switch is not thick enough to accomomodate the height of most surface mounted LEDs.For this reason ,The overlay is generally embossed in the window erea .

7)Types of connector
1.Zero insertion force (ZIF) connector; 2.Female connector; 3.male connector
A male or female connector can be fitted to the end of the tail .Solder pins can also be provided.
A pin of .01” is the most common ,Using a ZIF connector will be reduce the membrane switch cost as the tail will not need own connector and the pitch can be reduced to 1mm.
