China Resources Group Headquarters Building: The tallest building by the Shenzhen Bay, with a total building height of 392.5 meters. It has a streamlined appearance gathered from the bottom to top like "Bamboo shoots" at the spire, symbolizing the unlimited vitality of the spring rising bamboo shoots. It became the new focus of the city's skyline in the core area where Houhai enterprises headquarters gathering !
"Bamboo shoots" was created by the world-renowned architectural firm named KPF. The designer of " Bamboo shoots " once said:"Some buildings are the carriers of space, some buildings are the carriers of worldview, culture and spirit of the times. And Bamboo shoots belongs to the latter. "
The design of the cone tower reflects the boldness of geometry and the unique shape of “Bamboo shoots” broke ground, implying the rapid emergence of new things in large quantities which reflecting the pride of China Resources Group in the past and confidence in the future. The vivid portrayal of the vibrant young and pioneer city complements the urban spirit of Shenzhen people who dare to fight and not to be afraid of difficulties.
The night scene is the sublimation of the architectural effect during the day.
Iconic super high-rise projects often represent the spirit of the city. Such as Hong Kong IFC, it has the nobleness of overlooking the heroes. The use of layered lighting can reflect the towering and tall buildings. The Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia are also exquisite, elegant and three-dimensional, which shows that the power of architecture has become a classic. For "Bamboo shoots", we also hope to present an artistic, classic, and eternal image that show architectural aesthetics, artistic aesthetics, and lighting aesthetics. And it conveys to the public the core of China Resources' corporate spirit, sense of social responsibility, the connotation and taste of the city of Shenzhen.
The overall lighting design tone is clean, three-dimensional and upward. In terms of brightness level distribution, the crown of the tower is like a lighthouse, which is the part of the highest brightness level; the tower base is stable, combined with the interior of the indoor lobby, and the brightness is the second; the tower body and the contour line are integrated into the surrounding buildings and street environment in the greatest extent. Therefore, the brightness distribution of the building facade presents a scientific parabolic curve. Later, due to the unified planning requirements of the Shenzhen Bay area government, the façade lighting effects were arranged with dynamic patterns to meet the needs of overall control. This was also due to the careful and sufficient pre-planning of the lighting scheme eight years ago.
The design of façade lighting detail is the biggest difficulty of this project. The building is complex in shape, small in installation location, and difficult to integrate with the curtain wall, long distance for being lit from the other side, and the illuminated material is stainless steel, which makes it difficult to be brightened. At the same time, a series of factors such as glare must be taken into account. After repeat coordination with architects, curtain wall consultants, electrical and mechanical consultants and clients, we conducted a large number of computer simulations, actual office model simulations, lighting fixture research, and multiple model tests. Finally, we adopted the method of being lit from the other vertical structure, and the lighting fixture was hidden in the vertical fin.The dimensions of the fin side and the slot have fully taken into account the spacing for pipe routing, as well as the needs of lighting fixture installation and angle-adjustment.
There are still difficulties in lighting fixture design. The fixture photometric needs to be precise, because it is necessary to illuminate the vertical stainless steel structure 3 meters away but at the same time control the spilled light into the interior; another difficulty is to suppress the discomfort caused by the physical reflection in the tank, the glass surface, and the stainless steel. Therefore, the innovative design of the lighting fixture structure proposes the use of a double-layer asymmetric baffle. The internal baffle structure and surface material have been specially processed to effectively solve this problem.
For complex projects, mock-up testing is still an effective way to predict effects and predict problems. We also conducted a large number of mock-up tests for the "Bamboo shoots" project.
Final effects
The indoor public area also follows the simplicity style, simple but not plain.
The lobby on the first floor is transparent, atmospheric, and elegant, intertwined with beauty and power. The special structural system forms a "pillar-free" space in the interior, and the exquisite shapes and modern materials are rendered impressively by lighting.
The lobby space is also quite challenging for lighting. The square core wall and the folding diamond-like ceiling shape are the key points of performance. We don’t want to install lighting fixture on the ceiling to destroy the ceiling shape, but we have to satisfy the function of the 10 meters lobby and express the characteristics at the same time. We cleverly placed the lighting fixture
on one side of the curtain wall, and used multiple adjustable projection lighting fixture on the edge of the inclined ceiling to focus on the ceiling and the facade.
The lighting in the sky lobby is scientific and in good order. The lighting is combined with the ceiling to illuminate the space without affecting people's sight through the glass, looking at the beautiful scenery of the sea, lake and gardens of Shenzhen Bay.
The drop-off area where the ceiling is made of gold leaf, the shape is special and noble. It is still designed without downlight, using indirect lighting to avoid glare, and to a certain extent improve the sense of depression of floor heights, while creating a smart atmosphere.
