12. Aerial Filming Activities

12.1 Drone Operator

(1) It is strongly recommended that the drone operator wear head protection to avoid being struck by a falling drone, and eye protection to prevent eye injuries from shattered drone propellers.

(2) The drone operator must be in good physical condition to operate the drone safely (e.g., free from the influence of alcohol or drugs).

(3) The drone operator must be 18 years of age or older.

(4) The drone operator must wear visible and clearly marked reflective clothing so that any person within the event can easily identify the operator responsible for the drone.

(5) The aerial photography operator must be fully familiar with the settings and functions of the drone, and how to operate the drone safely.

12.2 Safety Planning

(1) The organizer may only use drones weighing up to 7 kilograms.

(2) The organizer must submit a drone activity site plan to Sands China for approval; the site plan must at least show the flight area, take-off and landing zones, flight routes, and ground control station.

(3) The take-off and landing area for drones must be separated from public areas.

(4) The Organizer must submit the technical specifications of the drone (e.g., model, weight, operating frequency) to this Hotel for approval.

(5) The Organizer must test the drone system frequency together with this Hotel to ensure that the drone system frequency does not conflict with other frequencies used within this Hotel.

(6) The Organizer must conduct safety and maintenance inspections on the drone to ensure that the drone is safe for use.

(7) The Organizer must submit routine procedures, signal loss procedures, and emergency procedures to this Hotel for approval.

(8) It is strongly recommended to set up barriers around the aerial filming area to prevent bystanders from entering the area.

(9) The Organizer must maintain relevant insurance to cover public liability and privacy matters arising from the aerial filming activity.

(10) The Organizer must conduct a rehearsal before the event, and the rehearsal must be observed by the Hotel's operations team to review any safety issues arising from the rehearsal.

12.3 Drone Operation – Overview

(1) Drones are strictly prohibited from flying beyond the visual line of sight of the operator.

(2) Flight modes that rely on the Global Positioning System should be avoided.

(3) Drones are strictly prohibited from flying over crowds or individuals.

(4) The drone must maintain a horizontal distance of at least 50 feet from any person or building during flight.

(5) The drone must fly within clear line of sight and along the designated routes approved by this hotel.

(6) At all times, only one operator is allowed to control one drone, and one operator is not allowed to control multiple drones.

(7) Operators of multiple drones must maintain communication with each other and take appropriate actions to avoid collisions between drones.

(8) At all times, it is strictly prohibited to suspend, carry, or attach any items to the drone.

12.4 Aerial Photography Operations – Indoor

Applicable to aerial photography activities at indoor rented venues, including:

The Venetian Macao: Meeting rooms and exhibition halls on L1 / L3 levels

(1) During flight, the drone must not fly higher than the bottom of the chandeliers, and must maintain a distance of at least 4 meters from the bottom of the chandeliers.

(2) Aerial photography activities are strictly prohibited outside the public lobby, exhibition hall foyers, and the rented meeting rooms.

12.5 Aerial Photography Operations – Outdoor

Applicable to aerial photography activities at outdoor rented venues within the hotel premises.

(1) Areas where drone flight is not permitted: areas where flight would interfere with emergency services, moving vehicles, or restricted/prohibited/dangerous/security-sensitive areas.

(2) During flight, the drone must not fly higher than 200 feet above the ground.

(3) The drone must fly only in clear and good weather conditions.

(4) During flight, the drone must not fly beyond the hotel premises.

(5) The drone must be operated during daylight hours.

(6) Based on the privacy of in-house guests, drones are not allowed to capture footage of hotel rooms. If an in-house guest complains about drone activities, the organizer must immediately cease the drone activities.

12.6 Data Privacy

(1) The organizer must communicate the arrangements and purposes of the drone activities to event participants; communication methods include signage, event brochures, event registration websites, broadcast messages, etc.

(2) When the aerial filming activity is in progress, if any activity participant does not consent to being filmed or recorded, the Organizer must ensure that the captured images and footage are processed to make the participant's identity not easily recognizable.

12.7 Liability

The Organizer shall bear full responsibility for any bodily injury and property damage caused by the drone.

12.8 Accident Reporting

When a drone causes an accident, the Organizer must immediately notify the Security Department of this Hotel.
