Yunfeiyang Robotics has successfully delivered and fully completed a large-scale municipal pipeline digital inspection project for a core urban area in Southeast Asia. The project covers a total pipeline distance of 31 kilometers, including complex urban main drainage pipes, community branch pipelines, and old industrial zone sewer lines, with pipe diameters ranging from 250mm to 1100mm. According to local municipal infrastructure statistics, more than 45% of the underground pipelines in this urban area have been in continuous service for over 20 years, resulting in widespread aging problems such as internal sediment accumulation, pipeline wall corrosion, pipe joint dislocation, structural deformation, and partial water seepage. These long-term hidden dangers seriously affected urban drainage efficiency, rainwater flood discharge capacity, and underground infrastructure safety.
To solve the problems of low efficiency and high safety risks of traditional manual pipeline inspection, the project contractor officially adopted 6 sets of our mid-sized multi-functional modular pipeline inspection robots for full-coverage internal pipeline scanning and digital data recording. During the 45-day continuous on-site construction cycle, our robot team completed systematic and standardized inspection of all 31 kilometers of target pipelines. The intelligent identification system successfully detected and classified a total of 1,286 pipeline structural defects. Detailed data sorting shows that there were 38 severe corrosion sections with wall metal loss exceeding 20%, 96 serious sediment blockage sections with more than 30% pipe occupation, and 27 pipeline dislocation and deformation hazards that required priority maintenance and repair.
Compared with the traditional manual well-entry inspection method, our robotic inspection solution greatly improved overall construction efficiency and inspection accuracy. The effective single-day inspection distance increased from 300 meters manually to more than 1,100 meters by robot, and the defect misjudgment rate was effectively controlled below 1.8%. Equipped with IP68 full waterproof performance, adaptive suspension wheel system and 30-degree stable climbing capability, our robots maintained stable and continuous operation in various harsh working conditions such as humid environments, full-water pipelines, silt accumulation and narrow curved pipe sections. All inspection videos, defect pictures and position data were automatically archived, analyzed and exported into standardized municipal pipeline detection reports, helping the local government complete digital pipeline filing, risk assessment and accurate renovation planning efficiently. This project once again proves Yunfeiyang's reliable technical strength and stable equipment performance in large-scale urban pipeline renovation projects.
