Product Introduction
High resilience (HR) PU foam features fast spring-back performance after compression. It has an open-cell structure with great support and air permeability. Low compression set for long service life. Custom size and thickness available, can be laminated with other foam layers. OEM & ODM available, complies with ROHS, REACH, CA117 standard.
1. What is the difference between high resilience foam and regular foam / high density foam?
High resilience foam springs back quickly (usually recovering within 1-2 seconds), feels more elastic and supportive, and has lower permanent compression set, making it suitable for repeated load-bearing applications. Regular foam recovers slowly and sags easily; high density foam focuses on durability but is not necessarily high resilience.
2. How do I choose density and firmness (ILD/IFD), and how do the two combine?
Density is commonly 25-50 kg/m3 (sofa seat cushions mostly use 30-45 kg/m3, higher for heavy commercial use).
ILD determines the soft or firm feel and is independent of density.
Sofa seat cushions favor medium to high density plus medium to high ILD; backrests can be slightly softer.
3. Will it sag? What is the service life?
High resilience grades can last 8-12 years under normal use, with a low permanent compression set rate.
4. What is the difference between mattress, sofa and automotive use? Can it be customized?
Sofa: seat cushions use high resilience and high support, backrests are softer.
Mattress: mostly used as a support layer or transition layer.
Automotive: usually requires higher durability and flame retardancy.
Customization is accepted.
