        The company relies on the research results of Professor Li Wei's team at Nankai University to create the world's first castor oil hydrogenation catalyst, breaking through the world's difficult problems of castor oil hydrogenation catalysts being prone to deactivation, poor selectivity, and low yield. Using castor oil as raw material, biojet fuel is prepared through catalytic hydrogenation, while also producing high-value second-generation biodiesel and bio-gasoline as by-products.

        The castor bio-aviation coal hydrogenation catalyst and process technology developed by the company have reached the world's leading level. After 10 years of research and development, the team has overcome the difficulties of catalyst deactivation, low yield, and short lifespan, and has initiated industrial construction. The project team has independently developed a world-leading high-efficiency castor bio-aviation coal multi-stage pore catalyst and successfully prepared castor bio-aviation coal for the first time.

        The castor bio-aviation coal samples have been tested by institutions such as Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, PLA Air Force Oil Institute, and all indicators meet the requirements of No. 3 jet fuel (GB 6537-2006), ASTM D7566, and other relevant standards.

       Professor Li Wei from the School of Chemistry, Nankai University, pioneered the second-generation bio-coal catalyst and catalytic technology for plant oil, independently developing a plant oil bio-coal hydrogenation catalyst with internationally leading level.

       Based on the Nankai University bio-coal research team and Chinese castor oil, continuous research and innovation are carried out, actively exploring the innovative development model of "discipline + talent + industry," and jointly designing and constructing with the design institute.


     The catalyst developed by our company has the characteristics of high activity, high selectivity, high conversion rate, and long life.

     Through our technology, the conversion rate and yield of castor oil are the lowest in the same field in terms of cost, and the bio-coal products obtained have better cleanliness, combustion performance, lubricity, and low-temperature fluidity than traditional petrochemical aviation coal.

        The castor bio-coal hydrogenation catalyst and process technology developed by our company have reached the world's leading level. After 10 years of research and development, we have overcome the difficult problems of catalyst deactivation, low yield, and short lifespan, and have initiated industrial construction. The project team has independently developed a highly efficient castor bio-coal multi-stage pore catalyst with internationally leading level, and has successfully prepared castor bio-coal.

        In addition, the technology for preparing castor bio-coal will actively expand to the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road Initiative".

      Our company, in collaboration with several units including the Civil Aviation Administration of China, is building a test flight certification platform, aiming to establish the first China's completely independent intellectual property platform and base for the research, production, and certification of bio-aviation fuel in Tianjin, led by the Tian Kaiyuan platform.

      The bio-aviation coal produced radiates the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei airport cluster (Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport) and Airbus Tianjin.

      

Biological aviation coal research background and prospects

        Using castor oil bio-aviation coal on large passenger planes can achieve zero carbon emissions throughout the life cycle, with carbon reduction reaching 50-90%.


        Forming a green aviation industry chain for carbon reduction in the aviation industry in China through biomass raw materials such as castor oil, photovoltaic green electricity, green hydrogen, and green aviation coal, achieving sustainable certification for the Chinese aviation industry, benchmarking RSB and ISCC in Europe and America.


        Breaking through the technological blank of industrialization of bio-aviation coal in China, and the technology blockade in Europe and America, solving the hegemony and fines in the aviation industry in Europe and America, and establishing a Chinese characteristic bio-aviation kerosene industry chain.

Cangzhou self-built factory

        The company is carrying out the design of a biomass aviation coal industrialization plant with an annual output of 100,000 tons in Cangzhou, and is preparing to select a site for self-built factory in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.


        Phase one is expected to be put into operation within 3 years, and will undergo airworthiness certification and test flights. The output value of aviation coal products in this phase is about 4 billion yuan.


        Phase two is expected to build a thousand-ton-level catalyst production line to expand the annual output of biomass aviation coal to 500,000 tons, with a carbon emission reduction of about 1.2 million tons. The output value of aviation coal products in this phase is about 20 billion yuan, and the output value of catalyst is about 250 million yuan.

Taking advantage of the feature of planting castor oil in deserts, cooperating with relevant enterprises to develop planting castor oil under photovoltaic panels, achieving the effects of sand control, ecological protection, and the combination of desert control and agricultural economic development.

        Castor as a raw material has sustainability, belongs to non-grain crops, can be planted in saline-alkali land and deserts, does not compete with people for grain, does not compete with grain for land. Actively cooperate with domestic environmental protection enterprises to carry out the planting of castor and other crops, providing raw material guarantee for the bio-coal industry.
