Product Introduction
Fumed SIlica / Nano SIlica for Fire-Resistant Glass Manufacturer: ANDEHU NEW MATERIALS (SHANDONG) CO., LTD 1. Product Overview Our Fumed SIlica / Nano SIlica for fire-resistant glass is a core functional raw material engineered for grouted insulating fire glass. It uses high-purity amorphous nano-silica as the dispersed phase and deionized water as the dispersion medium, forming a stable colloidal system. Developed by Andehu to address industry pain points including alkali efflorescence, weak weather resistance and limited fire endurance, the product features precise particle size control and surface modification, fits mainstream pouring and lamination processes, and supports fire ratings from 0.5 hour to 3.0 hours. It appears as a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature with high optical transmittance, and forms strong adhesion to glass substrates. When exposed to high temperature, it undergoes dehydration and polycondensation to form a dense 3D silica network, converting into a rigid heat-insulating refractory layer that blocks flame penetration and heat transfer. It serves as the core material for next-generation inorganic fire-resistant glass. 2. Core Technical Features High-Purity Amorphous Formula: SiO₂ purity ≥99.8%, free of heavy metal ions and organic volatiles. No toxic fumes are released at high temperatures, meeting green building and fire safety environmental requirements. The amorphous structure remains stable across wide temperature ranges and does not melt or decompose above 1000℃. Controlled Nano Particle Size: Particle size concentrated in the 60–120nm customizable range. Precision classification balances colloidal stability and cured layer density. Smaller grades suit thin glass fine pouring; larger grades improve thermal shock resistance and structural strength after curing. High-Clarity Optical Performance: Visible light transmittance ≥88%. The cured gel layer has a refractive index close to glass, with no haze or yellowing. It eliminates whitening and low transmittance issues common in traditional water glass systems, satisfying architectural daylighting and aesthetic requirements. Wide-Temperature Storage Stability: Unique charge stabilization technology maintains pH 9.0–10.5 alkaline range. Shelf life exceeds 12 months at 5–35℃ without gelation, delamination or sedimentation, suitable for long-distance shipping and mass production inventory. 3. Fire Protection Mechanism In a fire event, the Fumed SIlica / Nano SIlica fire layer undergoes three phase transitions to deliver fire and heat insulation: 1.Endothermic Water Evaporation (100–200℃): Free water in the colloid evaporates gradually, absorbing large amounts of latent heat and slowing temperature rise. 2.Gel Polycondensation & Densification (300–600℃): Silanol groups dehydrate and polycondense. Nanoparticles interconnect into a continuous 3D network, shrinking uniformly to form a dense heat barrier. 3.Ceramic Refractory Barrier (above 800℃): The gel layer sinters and ceramizes into a glassy rigid refractory layer with thermal conductivity below 0.12W/(m·K), blocking thermal radiation and conduction while maintaining structural integrity to prevent glass shard splashing. 4. Compatible Production Processes Pouring-Type Fire Glass Process 1.Formula preparation: blend Fumed SIlica / Nano SIlica with curing agents and additives, vacuum degas for 30–60 minutes 2.Vacuum pouring: inject into the interlayer of two glass sheets, interlayer thickness 5–20mm by fire rating 3.Gradient curing: pre-cure at 60℃ for 4h, then post-cure at 80–100℃ for 8–12h 4.Inspection & cutting: test appearance, transmittance and fire performance, cut to finished dimensions Laminated Composite Fire Glass Process Suitable for thin flexible fire glass. Fumed SIlica / Nano SIlica is blended with thickener into a paste, evenly coated on glass, pre-cured, laminated with a second substrate, and final cured at elevated temperature. 5.
