Foam or faux fur: where to start
Begin with the conditions you record in. A flocked foam windscreen can be a good choice for an indoor studio or interview where color and a clear on-camera identity are important. Long-pile faux fur is designed for outdoor use, where wind noise can be a concern.
Fit matters too. Provide your microphone model and dimensions when discussing a windscreen, and consider testing a sample in the actual recording environment.
Branding
Creating a recognizable on-camera look
A microphone windscreen is a small but visible part of a broadcast setup. Start with your brand colors and logo, then consider how the design will look from different camera angles and at different distances.
When discussing a custom design, share an accurate logo file, any brand color references and a photo of the microphone. Confirm placement and appearance on a sample before moving to production.
Project planning
What to prepare for a custom order
For a useful first conversation, gather your microphone model, dimensions, intended setting and approximate quantity. For branded foam designs, include the colors, logo and shape you have in mind.
If you have a target schedule or an existing sample, share those details as well. Specifications, pricing and lead times can then be discussed for your particular requirements.
