Located at the foot of Mount Wutai, a sacred site of Buddhism, Shanxi Mount Wutai Sea Buckthorn Products Co., Ltd. is a national-level high-tech enterprise that integrates the research and development, processing, production, and sales of food products—particularly various refined vegetable oils and health supplements. The company researches, develops, and produces high-quality “Wufeng Huiguo” brand sea buckthorn fruit oil, sea buckthorn seed oil, and other refined vegetable oils, as well as a range of health supplements, gel candies, sea buckthorn fruit powder, sea buckthorn puree, sea buckthorn clear juice, sea buckthorn calcium tablet candies, “Sea Buckthorn Legend” small tea cakes, sea buckthorn cake tea, and aged sea buckthorn vinegar.
For 32 years, the “Wutai Mountain Sea Buckthorn Team” has consistently upheld “promoting human health” as its mission. Guided by the business philosophy of “cherishing science, advocating excellence, putting people first, and striving for sincerity and precision,” the company has continuously increased investment in science and technology, renovated and upgraded its infrastructure, and independently developed and invested heavily in advanced production technologies, equipment, and R&D and testing facilities, thereby achieving significant economic benefits.

The company has completed a total of 19 technical renovation and R&D projects, secured 25 software copyrights, and obtained 10 patents and domestic technological achievements; two of its core technologies were awarded the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Invention and the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Xinzhou City, respectively. In 2020, the company was approved to establish the Shanxi Provincial Industrial Technology Research Institute for Specialty Health Foods and was recognized as one of Shanxi Province’s first new-type industry-academia-research R&D institutions, thereby strengthening its foundation in technology research and development.
The company holds a food production license, is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000, operates a GMP-compliant cleanroom for health foods, and is registered for export. It has obtained numerous certifications, including FDA, Halal, U.S. Organic, EU Organic, and AAAA-level Standardized Good Practice. Its Wufeng Huiguo Sea Buckthorn Industrial Park is Xinzhou’s first National AAA-level industrial tourism site.
The company serves as a council member of the International Sea Buckthorn Association (China) Sea Buckthorn Enterprise Federation and a member of the Shanxi Provincial Association of Leading Agricultural Industrialization Enterprises. It was recognized as an Outstanding Member of the International Sea Buckthorn Association in both 2020 and 2022.
History of Development
Since its founding, the company has focused on developing sea buckthorn resources in the Wutai Mountains. Starting with the primary processing of sea buckthorn, it has continuously pursued technological upgrades and innovation, established a “base + farmers” industrial chain, built a GMP-compliant smart production line and a provincial-level research institute, and grown into a leading high-tech agricultural enterprise integrating R&D, end-to-end production, and domestic and international sales, while building the “Wufeng Huiguo” sea buckthorn brand.

We have established a 1,000-square-meter R&D and Testing Center equipped with 67 sets of high-precision testing instruments, including Waters high-performance liquid chromatographs and Shimadzu gas-chromatography/mass spectrometry systems, as well as a Class 10,000 cleanroom microbiology laboratory. We are capable of conducting comprehensive testing for over 100 parameters, including flavonoids, vitamins, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and microorganisms.
Our production facilities adhere to GMP cleanroom standards and are equipped with over 100 sets of intelligent production equipment, including supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and molecular distillation systems. Our highly automated production lines maximize the retention of sea buckthorn’s natural active ingredients. We implement end-to-end quality control—from incoming raw material inspection to finished product shipment—to ensure consistent batch quality for OEM/ODM orders.

As a representative to the Xinzhou Municipal People’s Congress, he has led the company in establishing a 56,000 mu proprietary sea buckthorn plantation at the foot of Mount Wutai. The company focuses on the deep processing of sea buckthorn, technological R&D, and the development of a full industrial chain, bringing Mount Wutai’s sea buckthorn resources to global markets.
He has received numerous prestigious honors, including: National Outstanding Leader in Rural Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Distinguished Entrepreneur of Xinzhou City; Nominee for the Xinzhou Mayor’s Quality Award; and the Shanxi Province May 1st Labor Medal.
