PVP/VA 64 Vinylpyrrolidone Vinyl Acetate Copolymer
A vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate copolymer supplied as a powder or as a 50% aqueous solution. It is a film former with better adhesion and a less hygroscopic film than PVP alone, which is what makes it the standard choice for hair fixatives.

In cosmetics it carries aerosol hair sprays, pump sprays, setting lotions, setting mousses, gels and hair waxes. In pharmaceuticals it is used as a water-soluble and drying adhesive in granulation and direct tabletting, in film coating, as a taste-masking agent, and to prevent sugar coating from splitting while keeping the subcoating dry.
