Container Securing Materials

In the container industry, the cycle time for loading and unloading is the criterion that decides productivity, on board a vessel and at a container terminal alike. Twist locks are what make that cycle both fast and safe: they hold a container to the deck, to the slot and to the container beneath it, and the automatic types are engaged and released by the crane itself, so no one has to climb the stack to free a unit.

Choosing securing materials comes down to four decisions. Where they are used: on-deck lashing on a vessel, stacking and ground slots in a terminal yard, or intermodal work — in every case the fitting has to match the socket already on the deck or in the pavement. Which twist lock: manual locks worked by hand, semi-automatic locks that engage as the container lands and release manually, mid locks that join containers inside a stack, and fully automatic locks that engage and release by crane action alone. The foundation: raised ISO foundations, flush ISO sockets and dovetail foundations, together with the dovetail bottom locks that fit them. Load and certificate: the working load of each item and the test or approval certificate your authority calls for — our lashing D-rings are rated at 36 and 50 tonnes.

The range also covers bridge fittings for joining containers side by side, turnbuckles for tensioning lashing rods, D-rings and the ISO sockets that take them, so a complete lashing plan can be quoted as one order.
